About

Hi, I'm Thimo.

I’m fascinated by how ideas turn into real, tangible things. For more than ten years, my work has lived at the intersection of idea, design and implementation.

I’ve always been drawn to the early phases of a project — when things are still undefined and clarity matters more than perfect planning. Technology itself is rarely the goal. What matters is what it enables.

The most rewarding moments are when complexity starts to fade and direction becomes clear. That’s where I feel most at home.

My path

My journey has taken me through very different environments — from a large bank to startups and later a digital agency. Each came with its own pace, expectations and challenges.

Over time, one pattern kept repeating: digital projects rarely struggle because of missing technology. More often, what’s missing is orientation — or someone who helps turn possibilities into concrete decisions.

Today, I work between thinking and building — turning direction into real outcomes.

Outside of work

Most of my interests revolve around building, understanding or watching things grow over time.

I collect Pokémon cards, play Magic: The Gathering and board games, take care of houseplants and bonsai (with mixed success), and enjoy cooking — often turning it into a small experiment of its own.

I also have a tendency to collect hobbies. Some stick, others don’t.

Over time, that list has included things like playing piano and handpan, paragliding, painting, brewing kombucha and beer, sewing, and various forms of gaming — from Minecraft to flight simulators.

Not everything lasts, but almost everything teaches me something.

At home, my curiosity continues. My homelab is a space for experimenting with servers, Linux environments and new technologies — including AI. Not everything turns out to be useful, but almost everything turns out to be interesting.

How I work

Good collaboration starts with curiosity, openness and the willingness to question assumptions together.

Understanding the real problem comes before trying to solve it.

I prefer working directly, without unnecessary complexity — on equal footing and with a shared goal: making steady, meaningful progress.
